Microneedling and PRP
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure that involves creating controlled micro-injuries to the skin. Tiny needles are used to puncture the surface of the skin at a high speed and a particular depth determined by your skin type and condition. As a natural healing response to these injuries, the body stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This results in tighter, smoother and firmer skin along with improved skin tone and texture.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma), is an organic alternative to cosmetic enhancement that uses a Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) from a small amount of your own blood. The matrix is injected into the areas of visible aging following a centrifuge process (division of blood platelets from other blood components) and slowly releases a variety of growth factors that stimulate your body’s natural course of tissue restoration and collagen production, resulting in youthful, glowing skin.
By combining these two remarkable technologies, we’re able to create superior skin rejuvenation. PRP is injected into the areas of aging following the microneedling process in order to ensure that the PRP is fully absorbed and can further enhance your anti-aging results. As your collagen production increases, your skin gains elasticity, and becomes smoother and firmer!

Prior to Treatment
Prior to your treatment you will be scheduled for a complimentary consultation with a SKIN specialist who will review previous and current skin care, perform a detailed skin analysis, and discuss general health history before recommending a customized treatment program. Before your treatment begins, a numbing cream will be applied to the area for approximately one hour. This will ensure your comfort during the treatment session.
Following treatment, you will be advised not to wash off any residue for several hours or even overnight, so as to allow the PRP to continue to penetrate the skin. Minor pinpoint bleeding may occur and tiny scabs may appear on the skin in the treated areas. There is also the possibility of swelling and/or minimal bruising following the procedure. This will diminish gradually over 2-3 days, however, some bruising may remain visible for longer. Makeup can be used to camouflage any bruising, however no pressure should be applied to the area for several hours. Certain medications and herbal remedies must not be taken prior to and for weeks after treatment, as they will diminish the effectiveness of the treatment. This will be discussed with you in consultationand a list will be provided.
Once swelling subsides, the production of new cells and collagen begins. After 2-3 weeks, the treated area will start to look smoother as new cells proliferate under the epidermis. Your skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months following your treatment. The effects are long lasting and, while reasonable results can be achieved with just one treatment, 2 or more treatments may be recommended to maintain or enhance your results.
