Prior to Treatment
Prior to treatment you will be scheduled for a complimentary consultation with a SKIN specialist who will review previous and current skin care, perform a detailed skin analysis, and discuss general health history before recommending a customized treatment program.
Generally treatments are well tolerated and no topical anesthetic is required. The laser’s long pulses play an important role in matching the thermal relaxation time of blood vessels. Due to the absorption in hemoglobin and depth of penetration, our laser provides a combination that is well suited for the treatment of both small superficial facial veins as well as the larger, deep seated vascular lesions. Most treatments range from 5 to 20 minutes in length, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Vascular laser treatments are usually well tolerated by patients. The skin may remain red and sensitive for a day or so after the treatment. This clears up within a short amount of time.
Patients will see significant improvement in pigmentation of vascular lesions, along with reduction or elimination of spider veins. The number of treatments required to achieve optimal clearance of vascular lesions is dependent on the size of the lesions and the diameter of the vessels.
The laser provides significant improvement in existing spider veins and other vascular lesions, however laser treatments do not prevent new veins or lesions from appearing.
